James Perkins

James was born on June 11th, 1743 in North Castle, NY. James' father was Joseph Perkins. He had two brothers named Isaac and Joseph. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 70 on November 22nd, 1813 in Cayuga Co., NY.

- His family was listed on the 1800 Census at Marcellus,
  Onondaga Co., NY and the 1810 New York Census in Cato, Cayuga Co., NY *(He may have been the James Perkins
  listed on the 1790 Census at Westfield, Washington Co., NY ). He settled in Cayuga Co., NY in 1802 in the town of Conquest. He was known as *Captain James Perkins, but no proof has been found in Military records for this title. He served in the Rev. War with his brother Joseph Perkins as a "Private".
