  • "She came from Tracy Mills, NB (about 8 miles south of Centreville).  I am trying to find out where she was born and who her parents were. I believe they may have been Everet Harold and Mary Whitney who are buried at the United Baptist Church cemetery in Centreville, Carleton County, N.B.  Everet HAROLD is said to have been born in Cape Breton about 1829. His brothers George, Robert, and John possibly born here also."  --- Ted Brassard
    
    Robert Harold married Mary Nason on Nov. 18, 1818, in Sunbury County, N.B. They were both said to be from Lincoln. The witnesses were R. Hamilton and Wm. Boone. Robert is also more than likely the father of three known Harold sons. I know nothing about Robert Harold except that he was born about 1826 and died on June 14, 1887, at the age of 61.This information is on his burial marker at the cemetery of the United Baptist Church in Centrefield, Carleton County, N.B. The grave of Everet Harold is at the same cemetery as Robert. His marker gives the date of his birth as Jan. 4, 1828, and his death as March 24, 1907. Buried with Everet is his wife, Mary. She was born in 1835 and died in 1921. Her maiden name possibly was Whitney. John Harold and his family are in the 1871 and 1881 census records for Carleton County. Any information would be appreciated.

    Harold - Perkins - Nason: According to the family Bible, at the time of her marriage to Gideon E. Perkins in August of 1880, Clara A. Harold was said to have come from Tracy Mills ‚ the original name for the town of Tracy, N.B. Her grandfather might possibly have been Robert Harold, who married Mary Nason in 1818, since Mary had been born in Tracy Mills in 1795. It is also possible that Robert and Mary were the parents of three Harold brothers: Robert, Everet and John. It also appears highly possible that Everet was Clara's father. This is all conjecture, of course, which is why I'm appealing for help. Anyone with any information about this area or the families mentioned is urged to contact me.

    New Information has come to me (Ted Brassard) concerning my great grandmother, Clara A. Harold. Clara married 11/8/1880 at Woodstock to Gideon E. Perkins and was said to come from Tracy Mills, New Brunswick.  A first cousin, once removed, has told me recently he is pretty sure her father was John Harold and that her mother's maiden name was Mills. There is no evidence that this is true at all. It is only family legend, but may be borne out because of the names of the witnesses at Claras marraige.  At her wedding the witnesses were: Mrs. James Mills (the wife of Clara's uncle) and Miss Caroline Mills (Clara's cousin).
    
    South of Fredericton, next to the north branch of the Oromocto River,
    lies the small village of Tracy, New Brunswick. It owes its origins and
    name to Jeremiah Tracy one of the first settlers in this region who built
    a saw mill and a grist mill.
    Jeremiah and another early settler, Lemuel Nason, had come from New
    England and originally settled near the Saint John River, but had to move
    when the lands reverted to the Crown at the time of the Loyalist
    migrations. Lemuel married Jeremiah's daughter, Mary Tracy, and their
    union produced fifteen children. One of these, Mary Nason, born in 1795,
