John Allen

John was born on October 1st, 1727 in Hackensack, Bergen, New Jersey.

John's father was John Allen and his mother was Maritie Ackerman. His paternal grandparents were John (Jan) Ellen and Anna Haldron; his maternal grandparents were Lodowyck Ackerman and Hillegond Bosch. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Abraham, Thomas, Angenietje, Hillegond and Marytjen. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died after 1786 in Burton, Sunbury County, New Brunswick.

General Notes
- John Allen was a Loyalist and settled in New Brunswick, Canada, after the Revolutionary War. His four sons served with the British. Three of them in the New Jersey Volunteers. He was a dealer in real estate in New York.
