David Ackerman

David was born in 1620 in Oss, N. Brabant, Dutch Republic. David's father was Laurens Hendrickse Ackerman and his mother was Janneke Jurckse. His paternal grandparents were Laurens Ackerman and Hester Storm. He was an only child. He died due to Died at sea (on ship Vos ) on way to America at the age of 42 in 1662.

  David and Elisabeth were living in Berlicum, North Brabant, a few miles south of Oss and Geffen, when they decided to emigrate to America. The Dutch West Indies Company ledger for this trip is still preserved in the New York State Archives in the State Library at Albany, NY.
  
  Unfortunately, David did not get to enjoy the new world of America, as he died probably in 1662 at sea, but definitely before 6 Jan. 1663 when his wife Lizabeth and their oldest child, daughter Anneken, joined the church in New Amsterdam.
