William Stanley

William was born about 1319 in Storeton, Wirral, Cheshire, England. William's father was Sir John De Stanley I and his mother was Mabel Hawksket. He was an only child. He died due to 12 JAN 2004 about 1398 in Stourton Castle, Kinver, Staffordshire, England.

  WILLIAM DE STANLEY, son and heir; forester of Wirral Forest; in 1346 he was granted a pardon at the request of Henry, Earl of Lancaster and Derby; in 1355 he, with many others, was accused of an attack on the Abbey of Burton-upon-Trent;in 1359, with his son William, he entered into a recognisance; in 1361-62 he successfully claimed the hereditary forestership of Wirral Forest. He is said tohave married Alice, daughter of Hamon (or Hugh) DE MASCY of Timperley. [CP 12[1]:247
