    Baptised 1606. Will probated 1696. Came from England or Ireland to Kittery, Maine, by 1639. Was a Selectman. Ensign in Captain Shapleigh's Company 1653. Wives Sarah Baker and Abigail, widow of Nicholas Follett.
    
    Arrived on the ship "Warick" to Massachusetts in 1627.  There was a ship 'Warwick' owned by Sir Ferdinando Gorges. He was the primary promoter for the Northern Virginia Plantation and heavily involved with the early exploration and settling of Maine and New Hampshire. He had a number of ships, many fishing vessels and was involved in just about every venture concerning New England from the 1590s until his death in the 1640s. The Warwick was reported by John Winthrop to be a sleek 80-ton ship outfitted with 10 pieces of ordinance, a very small ship. In 1630, while Winthrop's fleet waited at Yarmouth, Isle of Wight to make the crossing to Massachusetts, the Warwick was just leaving for the Piscatequa River settlements. It was reported shortly thereafter to Winthrop that the Warwick had been attacked and sunk by 'Dunkirkers',or enemy ships from the Lowland Countries. Perhaps it was damaged and not sunk. Re-outfitted, Gorges would have continued to use her.
    
    In 1639 Richard Nason was living at Stove Pipe Landing. In 1645 he and his wife had a dispute with her father, Richard Baker, who was tried in New Hampshire and fined 5 shillings "for beating Richard Nason that he was black and blue and for throwing a fire shovel at his wife." In 1649 Nason served as a juryman. In 1653 he was an Ensign, later Selectman, and held other town offices in Kittery. In 1655 he was charged at York with not attending church meetings and in 1659 was fined Ï5 and disenfranchised for entertaining Quakers. In 1665 he was accused of blasphemy. Philip Chesley of Oyster River was witness against him. The General Court did "not judge him so guilty of that fact as that by our lawe he ought to die," but he had to post a Ï40 bond for good behavior. The inhabitants of Kittery elected him Deputy to the General Court the following year, but the court refused to seat him and called the people of Kittery to account for electing him. He owned 200 acres, and in his old age lived with his son Benjamin in York County, Maine. His will is dated 14 July 1694, proved 22 December 1696 at Kittery, and probated 15 March 1697. It names his own children, his wife Abigail, Abigail's children by a previous marriage, Nicholas Follett and Sarah Meader, and Abigail's granddaughter by her previous marriage, Sarah, daughter of Mary Witham.

    juryman. In 1655 he was hailed to York for not attending church and
    in 1659 was fined 5 pounds and disenfranchised for entertaining
    Quakers. In 1665 he was accused of blasphemy, for which he was
    placed under a 40 pound bond for good behavior. He was subsequently
    elected Deputy to the General Court the following year, but it refused to seat him. Ensign in 1653. Held the office of selectman and other offices. Owner of 200 acres of land.  Seven/eight children.
