Peter Day

Peter was born in 1755 in England. He died at the age of 76 in 1831 in Swan Creek, Sheffield Co., NB.

- Wiggins: Before the war he came from England to America, and to Saint John, NB following the war, settling at Sheffield, NB.

  DAY - Peter, born in England, settled in the American States before the Revolution, came to St. John in 1783 and settled in Sheffield. His wife's maiden name was Catharine Allan. His children were: Abraham who married Catharine Allan; Lawrence to Lucinda Palmer; Peter to Mary Wasson; John [...]; Peter settled on Cumberland Bay, Queen's County, in 1816, on the farm now owned and occupied by George Langley. His wife's maiden name was Mary Wasson. His sons, John, Robert, George and Thomas moved to Owen's Sound, Ontario, in 1846. His two daughters, Mrs. Miller Branscombe and Mrs. Andrew Barton, still live in Queen's County, the former at Wiggins' Cove, the latter at the Range.

  He res. at Hackensack, NJ prior to the War. He received a grant at Shelburne, NS and later settled at Queens Co, NB.
